Frequently asked questions

Zabbix is free, why pay for SecuMon?

The Zabbix license is indeed free. But real TCO includes: server + DB (often clustered for HA), security patches, major upgrades (often breaking), DB tuning for retention, training, Grafana dashboards to maintain. For an SMB or MSP managing 50+ hosts, monthly operational cost often exceeds SecuMon's SaaS flat rate.

Are my existing Zabbix templates reusable?

Not directly, as SecuMon uses a different stack (Prometheus / OpenTelemetry). But we provide equivalent dashboards for common cases (Linux host, Windows host, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Nginx, etc.) and support migration of custom items.

Zabbix is very flexible with triggers, is SecuMon?

SecuMon uses Prometheus AlertManager for alerting rules (PromQL + Loki LogQL). It's a mature standard, more expressive than Zabbix triggers on modern cases (anomaly detection, multi-source correlation).

Can we keep existing Zabbix and SecuMon side by side?

Yes. Gradual migration is possible: SecuMon owns new services while Zabbix continues on legacy. Alerts can be routed to a single hub (PagerDuty, OpsGenie, email).
